The Huntington-Cold Spring Harbor swim originated in 2011 and now encompasses a 400 M, 1mile, 2 mile and 5K swim events. The swim takes place at West Neck Beach in the Town of Huntington on the North Shore of Long Island.

The beach, located on the body of water that is Cold Spring Harbor, is a popular training venue for competitive and fitness swimmers and tri-athletes. It is also home to the unofficial West Neck Pod group of swimmers that train their regularly on mornings throughout the warmer months of May through October.

A group of athletes and volunteers from the community come together each year to plan this event. We partner with the Huntington YMCA and our sponsors to host this event for both age group and adult swimmers. Our event is open to experienced swimmers and triathletes. We offer wet-suit and non-wetsuit divisions for adults. Age group swimmers are non-wetsuit only. We are sanctioned by USA Swimming and permitted by the Town of Huntington and the United States Coast Guard.

Through a unique arrangement we raise money from our sponsors to fund a swimming scholarship program for kids at the Huntington YMCA. The program provides swimming lessons to kids that would not normally be able to afford such a program. This insures that more young people are provided with the opportunity to safely enter the water having built up the skills to do so at the YMCA.
If you are a either a competitive swimmer, fitness swimmer or a tri-athlete. We hope you will join us this year for what promises to be a worthwhile event for all.
